Logistics and supply chain management are indispensable when it comes to the production of goods or the supply of stores with the necessary products. Logistics facilitates effective co-operation between different corporate divisions, different companies and different sectors - not only nationally but also internationally. Logistics is an important field of expertise in many European countries; is an essential economic factor, a job engine and a future-oriented sector.
Many companies and institutions acting in logistics and supply chain management are organizing each year, on the third Thursday of Apri, free events to help the public become more aware of the logistics activity and its importance in the economy of each country.
Toyota Material Handling Romania offered the public the opportunity to look behind the "curtain" and to explain a variety of logistics activities during the event organized at the company's headquarters. Among the guests were both collaborators of the company, as well as students of the Bucharest Polytechnic University and the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. The discussions focused on topics such as the importance of logistics in today’s business enviroment, the evolution of commodity movement in warehouses, the emergence of automation in logistics and the solutions that the company offers it’s clients in the industrial, commercial and logistics sectors.
During the event, participants enjoyed a live demonstration of Toyota's handling equipments in the company's warehouse.
